My name is Mrs. Jeanette Ferrell .
This is my 29th year teaching in the Polk County School system
and my 4th year at LCMA.
In past years, I've taught at Lakeland High School & Lakeland Highlands Middle School.
I am an English teacher with a passion for pictures & stories, both moving & still.
One of my favorite things about teaching is helping my students find their potential & then
watching them develop skills they may not have realized they had before!
I have been married for 35 years to my favorite human, Glenn. We have 3 children & 2 bonus kids. (Some people refer to them as "in-laws", but we prefer to think of them as a bonus addition to our family!) We have a granddaughter, Eleanor (17 mos. ), a grandson, Boone (10 mos.), and another grandson scheduled to make his appearance in Sept. 2021.
Our family is growing!
When I'm not at school you might find me playing games with my family or collecting seashells on Sanibel Island.
I also love to draw, craft, & play the piano.
My favorite thing about teaching is being part of that "Aha!" moment for students - when the lightbulb of new understanding
switches on & shines anew in their eyes.
It's my pleasure to have your student in my class this year.
Together, we will work diligently to uncover new skills & understanding
to assist them in building a better tomorrow.
